Your goal is my goal.

As a member of the Ulysses Quartet, I have led solo and chamber music masterclasses, workshops, and lectures across the United States and internationally, working with students from pre-college through advanced pre-professional levels at respected universities and festivals, including Cornell University, the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, the Beijing Modern Music Festival, and the Campos do Jordão International Winter Festival.

Chamber music lies at the heart of my artistic and pedagogical philosophy. In my chamber music coaching, I emphasize deep listening, shared leadership, and an intimate and meaningful engagement with the score, while developing skills which carries into solo, orchestral and lifelong practice.

Simply no other practice develops confidence, creativity, academic achievement, discipline, spatial thinking, and emotional intelligence - all necessary life skills - at the caliber as does musical training.

Whether you are a pre-professional collegiate student, or preparing for orchestral, conservatory, or pre-college auditions, my teaching is rooted in developing each student’s individual voices, cultivating artistic excellence and deepening a meaningful connection with classical music.

“My son has had the honor of studying viola with Peter, and I can say without hesitation this experience has been transformative. Peter is not only a talented musician, but also an exceptional teacher. His deep musicality, technical mastery, and authentic passion for music and teaching are evident in every lesson and every conversation. He has an innate gift to nurture both skill and confidence, balancing high expectations with warm encouragement and unwavering patience. My son has not only grown in playing viola, but he has also developed a deeper love for music. I am genuinely grateful to work with a talented musician and a kind person like Peter, and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking not just a teacher, but a true mentor and role model in music.” -Li Q.
